Textural Analysis Of A Music Magazine Double Page Spread

Denotation-The magazine double page spread consists of a colour photograph of a women looking at the camera from a side view. It is a mid-shot (MS) showing her head arms and waist. The background of the photograph is a light grey colour, and the photograph covers half of the page.

Alongside the women is a Masthead ‘people think I’m a attention seeker but I’m just honest’ the writing is in white and behind it is covered in black and the letters are in all different sizes the font looks like it’s been cut out of newspaper stuck together.
Masthead: The Masthead covers half the page its very old school typography looks like paper cut outs the black outline looks like a black drop shadow.

All the letters are in higher case but some are bigger than most which makes it look 3D and it’s very in your face.
The photograph on the double page spread is of Lilly Allen. She is posed as if she is waiting for a response in a very suggestive ‘what you looking at’ her pose is a very confrontational pose, she has her hands on her waist. Her clothing is very average every day wear the costume has been chosen to appeal to the target audience which is most likely to be young lady’s possibly teenagers. She looks kind of gothic her black hair and black eyeliner completes the look.
